Influences on Tia IV: The underdog

Tia
Daredevil

My last character might come as a surprise to most, as it is Daredevil, more specifically the Netflix version of Daredevil. Like it is hinted at in the game several times, Tia starts her career as a street-level vigilante much like him, albeit without a costume, but it is more specifically the way he tends to get beaten-up quite often and yet powers through anyway that makes him so relatable to Tia. In many scenes, he bites more than he can chew and walks out battered and bruises, sometimes barely alive, yet he always bounces back. This special brand of “underdog heroism” is absolutely what I am looking for in Tia’s story, something I felt strongly in quite a few scenes from the show. But of course, with Tia, it does not come just from her biting more than she can chew, but also from the simple fact that she is a petite woman fending off bigger men, even fighting one-on-one, she is the underdog. The whole “battered-up but not beaten” is a pillar of Tia’s stories. While much of the content I publish around Tia focuses on her losses by virtue of being smut content, the truth is that she tends to win most of her battles in canon, and, very often, she will walk out bruised and bleeding, much like Daredevil.

Of course, in Tia’s case, there is another aspect specific to her, the whole molestation thing! Unlike Daredevil, Tia has a clear Achile Heel that comes into play, her vulnerability to sexual stimulation while in danger. As long as she fights opponents who do not look to exploit it, she will be fine, albeit not necessarily unscathed, but once her foes switch priorities, it is a whole other story! This is another side of the contrast in Tia that is key to her. There is the contrast between Tia’s harmless physical appearance and her ability to wrestle victory from pain and exhaustion, and there is this other contrast between her ability to be a total badass in battle, and yet become vulnerable so quickly when the danger takes a sexual turn.

These sexual perils are when situations become truly desperate for Tia, when she has effectively “lost”. But these losses are also opportunities to explore how she can weather the storm, find a way out, and rebound while dealing with the consequences (not just psychological, but also and very tangible and practical ones as well).

Admittedly, most of the content I have created and commissioned for her focuses on the losses, and there is more where that came from, but I also hope to explore the others sides of Tia, in scenarios not focused on defeat and its consequences. Oh, do not worry, when, or if, it comes, it will be with a healthy dose of peril and sexual undertones! But until then, look forward to more of Tia in peril and defeat soon!

And with these words ends this series of posts on the influences on Tia! What did you think? Had you identified these influences yourself? Does Tia remind you of any other character? Please do not hesitate to let me know in the comments!
